Rich Froning Crossfit Games Champion going to NPGL Grid

Rich Froning came on strong to win the Games again last night.

His brief interview made me wonder what is up next for him.

I think a lot of people are taking his "I am going to change things up, I am not retiring" quote as he is going to put together a team for next year's CrossFit Games.

But...

What if that means he is going to make an announcement for the NPGL Grid league?  The majority of the athletes in The Crossfit Games are all on NPGL Grid teams so it would be a huge win for the NPGL if he decided to go this route.

I am speculating that due to his sponsorships with Reebok and Crossfit and the fact that he knew he was going to win again he didn't want to rock the boat and potentially jeopardize any of his wins or sponsorship dollars.

With The CrossFit Games out of the way and being a 4 time back to back champion he could likely move to the NPGL without much friction.

What do you think???

I would like to watch him compete in some GRID WODs....I mean "races."

Rich Froning Overhead Squat 377 pounds Crossfit Games 2014

Are you kidding me?  Rich Froning just pulled off a 1st place finish in the 2nd event of the 2014 Crossfit Games with a 377lb Overhead Squat.

He looked calm, composed and basically crushed his OHS.

Phoenix Rise - Rasmus Wisbech

Rasmus Wisbech

22 YRS, DENMARK
My name is Rasmus Wisbech Andersen I'm born in 1992. I grew up in Odense (Denmark) took my high school degree in business and economy and went to the military as a royal lifeguard after. In the end of 2010 one of my best friends got my introduced to CrossFit. We did a half Murph 6:30 in the morning and I latterly couldn't walk for the next couple of days. In whole 2011 CrossFit was on and off for some periods because I spent a huge amount of time on other hobbies back then. In 2012 I started competing in CrossFit and then it just went on and on from their. In September 2013 I took a huge decision and signed up for a language school in San Diego. It was only supposed to last for 5 month but things changed. I felt in love with San Diego and after a short trip to Denmark in January I moved back to the sun and beaches in San Diego. I'm here now and I will be competing for team Invictus in the 2014 CrossFit season which I'm so stocked and excited about. My journey in San Diego ends in August and I'm still not sure what will happen then.

“Rasmus fits into the Phoenix Rise formula perfectly. He trains with newly drafted #Rise athlete Bryan Miller so they already have a great teamwork relationship and understanding. Rasmus is a strong athlete with a solid coaching background, we are looking forward to seeing him throw down on the #Grid

What Rich Froning Jr Does Not Want You To Know

What does CrossFit and Rich Froning Jr have in common?  Absolutely nothing...

For the past few years it is hard not to like the guy who appears to be unbeatable.  How can you not like someone who is peaking in his sport and has won back to back to back titles of the Fittest Man On Earth.

Bio

Rich Froning is a freak of nature. While his extremely fit physique proves this fact, his more than impressive resume confirms it. Known as one of the most prolific CrossFit Games athletes in recent years, Froning is more notably the only athlete to repeat as CrossFit Games Men’s Champion in the history of the competition. The Tennessee native swept up the competition in both 2011 and 2012 and showed no signs of slowing down as he completed a three-peat at the 2013 Games.

Coming from humble beginnings, Froning took interest in the sport when introduced to it by a college professor in 2009. He didn’t offically compete in the Games until 2010, but since then, he’s wracked up quite the stat sheet, not to mention a massive fan following. You don’t think of the sport of CrossFit, without mentioning the name Rich Froning.

When he is not competing in the CrossFit Games, Froning can be found taking part in his other passion; his very own CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit Mayhem in his hometown of Cookeville, Tennessee.

Froning is a true ambassador to the training world and continues to prove himself at The Fittest Man On Earth.
